    Farzaneh Osati, MSc, PhD, ND

    Dr. Farzaneh Osati (MSc, PhD, ND) is an Immunologist, licensed Naturopathic Physician and certified Bowen therapist. Before embarking on Naturopathic Medicine, she received her undergraduate degree in Public Health and pursued her master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, followed by a PhD in Patho-Immunology at Michigan State University.

    In 1997 she was appointed as an assistant professor in the University of Medical Sciences, department of Immunology in Iran. She held this position till 2002, when she decided to move to Canada to continue her carrier and establish a bright and promising future for her children. From 2002 to 2004 she was appointed as Medical Director and Product Specialist in a German based clinical diagnostic company in Vancouver. Not ever thinking of going back to school again, in 2005 she decided to take the challenging journey and study her passionate field of Naturopathic Medicine at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine.

    Dr. Osati is an active member of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia, Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, British Columbia Naturopathic Association, and European Academy of Allergy and Immunology. She comes from a background that has a wealth of educational and clinical research experience and hopes to combine these skills with naturopathic medicine to create the best level of care for her patients. She respects and values conventional medicine and believes that both conventional and naturopathic medicine can go side by side to complement each other and offer the best and most valuable prevention/treatment regimen to her patients.

    Treating the root cause and the whole person are the principals of Naturopathic medicine and the foundation of Dr. Osati’s practice. Following these principals and a strong believe in the body’s self healing capacity, she aims to tailor her recommendations and treatment plans to the patient’s medical condition, vital force and the optimum goals of each visit. She considers herself as an educator, coach and motivator and the patient’s willingness and efforts as the main drive through the journey of healing.

    With special interest in pain management, autoimmune disease and healthy aging, Dr. Osati welcomes women, men and children with variety of health concerns to her practice. She utilizes a combination of valuable tools such as acupuncture, Traditional Chinese medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine, nutrition, botanical medicine, Bowen therapy, and injection therapies to respond to her patients’ medical concerns in the areas of:

    Mandy received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with distinction from the University of Calgary. She then completed her Master in Physical Therapy from UBC, where she received the 2015 Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC) Clinical Excellence Award.

    Mandy is passionate in her career as a physical therapist. She is a strong believer in setting shared goals and referencing to research to guide her in providing functional rehabilitation and education. Mandy is ecstatic to be part of the Sungod and Legacies team, where she can work closely with a talented multidisciplinary group of health professionals in empowering clients to reach their lifelong health goals.

    Aside from work, she also enjoys staying physically active (dance, weight training, rock climbing, squash, badminton, hiking … etc.), as well as enjoying all the wonderful food that British Columbia has to offer!

    Armin Ghayyur, BKin, MPT


    Armin’s passion for various sports led him to obtain his Bachelor of Science majoring in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. Soon after, he completed his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia. Armin has completed his Level 1 Manual Therapy through the Orthopedic division of CPA, K-taping pro-training, and has applied his knowledge by working with various athletic organizations including, NCAA SFU Football team and Football BC. He is currently completing his Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and Certification in Acupuncture through CAFCI.

    He has worked closely with athletes, seniors, individuals recovering from ailments and those looking to improve their quality of life. His professional passion includes the combination of neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Armin is extremely excited to be part of the Legacies team!

At York, he worked with numerous collegiate, amateur and professional athletes. His journey continued onto Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) where he graduated with honours in 2013.

Since then, he has developed a lifelong passion in improving the lives of others through education and rehabilitative care. He has a wide range of clinical experience ranging from spinal cord rehabilitation at GF Strong, to quality of life treatments for cancer patients at the Friends For Life Society.

    Richard is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy’s 3000hr Massage Therapy & Hydrotherapy program. He is a member of the College of Massage Therapy of BC (CMTBC), Registered Massage Therapists Association of BC (RMTABC), as well as the Canadian Sports Massage Therapists Association (CSMTA).

    Understanding that each person has his or her own health needs and goals, Richard treats his patients accordingly. His treatment approach is from a whole body perspective incorporating a variety of techniques. Each individual treatment is modified to ensure patients achieve their goals and to assist them on their road to better health and wellness.

Jazmin enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions, using techniques including traditional Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and deep tissue massage.

    Jazmin has an ever expanding interest in learning new techniques and plans to continue to take courses to improve her skills and knowledge. In her spare time, Jazmin remains active by running, skiing, hiking, and swimming.

    A graduate from VCMT, Jeffrey visited several clinics and decided Legacies is the best fit for his practice as an RMT. His outreach experience in VCMT included George Pearson Centre for patient-residents with physical limitations due to neurological damage or defects. He also enjoyed assignments at the Royal Columbian Hospital maternity ward, a seniors’ resource centre, a seniors’ residential home. He also has experience practicing in clients’ homes.

    The personal impact of massage therapy toward body, mind, and soul is why Jeffrey has turned his life down toward the path of being a massage therapist. He looks forward to treating you with kindness, compassion, and ever-increasing skill.

    • With a strong belief in the adaptive body, Chris uses a series of manual techniques to create a targeted recovery environment.  This allows the body to more easily recognize the problem, increasing healing time, getting you back to and keeping you at the form you expect.
    • Chris has outreach experience treating Canada’s National Swim Team, Professional Cyclists in the Tour de Victoria, and Triathletes (pre and post event).  He also has experience working with people battling Cancer, MS, Parkinson’s, Fibromyalgia and other systemic conditions causing musculoskeletal pain.

    • A graduate from the University of British Columbia, James is currently working on his Bachelor Degree of Health Sciences.
    • James has experience working at various sporting events such as the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, Historic Half Marathon, Vancouver International Marathon, and pre-game treatments for the BC Lions.
    • An avid runner, James has experience running and training for different races from everything from a 10km all the way up to a full marathon. He always seems to have that next marathon on his mind and lately we have been worried about his sanity with his talk about attempting an ultra-marathon. Going through many of the pains of training, James can easily relate to your questions or concerns.
    • James is currently experimenting with minimalist footwear for daily use and running. Ask him about it and he’ll gladly explain the logic behind it to you. He really is a bit of a shoe geek.

    Dr. Gagandip Parmar holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Science from The University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She then graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, obtaining her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. She is an evidence based practitioner who has a strong interest in diagnosing and treating neuromusculoskeletal conditions of the spine and extremities. While engaging in patient-centered care, Dr. Parmar’s approach in treatment is holistic, in order to achieve optimal health and well-being for all of her patients.

    Dr. Parmar practices the Diversified Technique, involving manual therapies, therapeutic modalities, rehabilitation and nutrition to restore health and function. She constantly collaborates with health care providers and delivers the best possible integrated care to all of her patients. She is also experienced in treating the geriatric, pediatric and pregnant population.

    In her spare time, Dr. Parmar enjoys being outdoors and engaging in recreational activities such as kayaking, cycling and hiking. She is an avid swimmer and holds a black belt in tae kwon do. She is a strong believer in making healthy lifestyle choices for mental, physical and spiritual well- being.

    Nafeez Syed holds a Masters degree in Physiotherapy from India and is pursuing his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences at The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC. Experience includes clinical practice, teaching and research in the field of Musculoskeletal, Cardiopulmonary and Neurological Physiotherapy, extensive work with clients of musculoskeletal injuries, stroke, cardiac and respiratory problems.

    As a varsity soccer player, Nafeez was involved in sport injury management both on and off field and has a special interest in ankle, knee and back injuries. Nafeez is trained in gait and movement analysis and has worked with athletes at various different levels in their careers.

    Nafeez began his career as a Physiotherapist in 2003 and was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2010 at Manipal University, India. Since then he was involved in training more than 20 post-graduate students in physical therapy. Nafeez trained therapists in their assessment of postural & movement control, cardiopulmonary exercise science and prescription of exercise in special populations. Nafeez supervised and contributed towards numerous studies relating to stroke rehabilitation, control of posture and movement in patients with neuro-musculoskeletal disorders, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and his scholarly output has been published through 27 peer-reviewed papers in reputed scientific journals.

    Nafeez is an active member with the Canadian and the American Thoracic Societies and American College of Sports Medicine and has been supported by BC Lung Association and Canadian Respiratory Research Network for his research endeavours.

In her spare time she loves to volunteer at the hospital, as well as coach little kids who are just learning how to play soccer. Growing up she encountered multiple injuries while playing sports and she understands how hard it can be to cope with injuries, so as a Medical Receptionist she understands how important it is to provide the best care she can at the front desk.

With her passion in continuous learning, she is not only expanding her knowledge in Acupuncture (Scalp Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture), but also in Cupping Therapy, Gua Sha therapy, and Moxibustion. She is uniquely able to combine these expertise to tailor a program specifically for your condition.

    Li has been extremely effective in treating sports injury, musculo-skeletal and neurological disorders, mental-emotional problems, internal disease and reproductive issues. She can also help with immunodeficiency, chronic fatigue, post surgical and post-chemo recoveries.

    Di Wu is an acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner, registered in BC. He has clinical experience over 20 years both in China and Canada. His specialty is in the areas of pain and sports injuries. Since 2014, he has focused his practice on injection therapies and helped many patients to be pain free in these natural ways. 

    Di is one of the founders and the present Vice-President of Acupoint and Regeneration Injection Association of BC(ARIABC). He is also an instructor for injection training programs. His techniques and skills include Acupuncture, Prolotherapy, Trigger Point Injection, Neural Prolotherapy, Ozone Injection and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma).

    Michael joins us after spending 5 years in Melbourne, Australia. Being heavily involved in sports as a player, a coach, and a sports trainer: he supplemented his knowledge by completing his bachelor degree in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University.

    Upon graduation, Michael ventured into work as a personal trainer and within the extended health insurance field, which increased his desire to further develop his understanding of optimal health and wellness. This subsequently led to his arrival in Melbourne, where he completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne.

    He began his physiotherapy career in Australia in private practice, as well was given the opportunity to work as a physiotherapist for a semi-pro soccer team. As part of his maturation in the field, he was able to attend various professional development events held by well renowned Australian physiotherapists.

    Michael enjoys all aspects of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with a particular interest in sporting injuries. He is a firm believer in client- centered treatment and has a strong emphasis on achieving total wellbeing.
